GST/HST Holiday FAQ
From December 14, 2024, until February 15, 2025, most items we sell will be subject to the Canadian Government's GST/HST Holiday Tax Break. You can find full details from the Government of Canada at: https://www.canada.ca/en/services/taxes/child-and-family-benefits/gst-hst-holiday-tax-break.html
FAQ
What Items qualify?
The vast majority of what we sell qualifies for the holiday. White Dwarf Magazine, Adult-size apparel, Anime, D&D and Pathfinder Minis and minis supplies with an age rating 14+, and Board Games with an age rating of 14+ or higher, do not qualify. These items will have their prices adjusted to account for the tax during the Tax Holiday.
What tax is on Holiday?
The Federal GST, as well as the HST in ON, NB, NS, PE, and NL, are subject to this holiday, and are zero-rated. Quebec has announced that the QST will not join the GST in the Tax Holiday, and QST will be unaffected. We are presently not registered to collect PST in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, or British Columbia.
How will this be shown?
If you live in Quebec, you will only see the QST of 9.975% charged on items. If you live elsewhere in Canada, you will simply not see taxes. We pledge to pass the full tax saving to you, and any minor price adjustments or sale discounts exist independent of the Tax or Tax Holiday.
Do preorders qualify?
Preorders qualify, if and only if, the order is both paid for and picked up/shipped during the Tax Holiday.
I preordered an item before the tax holiday. Can I get a rebate?
No, as per the rules of the tax holiday the payment must be made during the holiday period to qualify. We cannot issue retroactive rebates.
What about orders shipped outside Canada?
This tax holiday is only for Canadian taxes. Exports are already not subject to such taxes, and any import taxes paid, either at checkout or on delivery, are subject to their own rules and schedules. Check local laws.
